APOLLO 50TH ANNIVERSARY – LIVE FROM MOON DOCUMENTARY BY COLLINS RADIO, The University of Texas at Dallas, Saturday, 28. September 2019

Apollo 11 was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. The first steps by humans on another planetary body were taken by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on July 20, 1969. The astronauts also brought back to Earth the first samples from another planetary body.
Join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of this great achievement of mankind.
Art Roberts, business executive and engineering manager for Collins Radio Co. (now Collins Aerospace), was directly involved in this great mission and will share his story with us.
Collins Aerospace, a United Technologies subsidiary, is one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida.
A one-hour documentary film “Live from the Moon,” produced by the Arthur A. Collins Legacy Association, will be shown, which describes the use of the Collins Radio system on Apollo Missions 11-17. The documentary features rare 16-millimeter film footage and photos, as well as interviews with Collins employees who recall working on the Apollo program.
A panel discussion will follow the documentary.
We will also be joined by faculty and experts from UTD.
Prizes will be given for correct answers to a quiz.
