Connections Matter Community Training (Charlotte), The Carole Hoefener Center, Wednesday, 20. November 2019

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT BRAIN BUILDER? RELATIONSHIPS!
That’s why Connections Matter, whether we are thinking about our children or grandchildren, friends and family, our community or our own well-being. Everyday connections are more important than we ever believed. Science tells us that relationships have the power to shape our brains. Relationships help us learn better, work better, parent better. When we experience tough times, they help us heal. With each connection, we develop a healthier, stronger community.

In this 2-hour workshop, you will learn how caring, supportive relationships are the key to developing healthy brains, getting through tough times and building a thriving community
WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE:

Interactive, discussion-based curriculum

A better understanding of how trauma impacts brain development and a child’s ability to cope/succeed in school

Concrete knowledge about ACEs and how they affect a child’s learning environment

Brainstorming, action planning and next steps for implementing trauma-informed strategies

Strategies and ideas for helping students, families, and teachers to connect with one another

Resources specifically related to trauma and resilience in education

Connecting with other members of the education community

Tools for overall building more caring and resilient learning environments

This training is great a follow up for those who have attended one of Charlotte Resilience Project's "Resilience" film showings.
