DC FEES Training: A Procedure for Evaluating Oropharyngeal Dysphagia , George Washington Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, 22. June 2019

This two-day FEES Training Course covers a review of recent research use of instrumentation to evaluate swallowing and identifying normal and abnormal swallowing. Information is provided on developing a FEES program and incorporating FEES into clinical practice. Hands-on supervision is provided both afternoons to allow participants the opportunity to learn to maneuver the endoscope for a swallowing assessment with a focus on obtaining optimal view of the larynx while keeping in mind the ergonomics of the endoscopist. Time is spent reviewing clips from recorded FEES exams to allow the participant to begin to interpret FEES. This course is offered for 1.5 ASHA CEUS (Professional Area, Intermediate Level)
