FAQs
May we Cosplay and Costume?
Absolutely! We welcome your creative expressions of your favorite fandom. Cosplayers have developed a culture that honors and respects the craft and the community that it is in. So come dress as your favorite biblical character or Wonder Woman-all are welcome! *To follow venue policies and Alexandria laws, we do not permit guns, gun replicas, nor inoperable/nonfunctioning guns. Your safety and enjoyment are our priority. Please review our Cosplay and Safety Policy for detailed information.
Cosplay is not Consent! (adopted from http://www.cosplayisnotconsent.org/)
Please ask permission of guests you see cosplaying or in costume  to take photos and or to touch their constumes. Cosplayers put a lot of time, energy and resources into their cosplay. Let's respect the art, by respecting the artist that embodies it.  This is not a question, but a directive for guests. That is all!
Wheelchair Access?
The event venue, Addison Hall, has wheelchair access and elevators to all floors. Please contact us at info@theocon.live if there are further accommodations we can assist with.
Translation services? (ASL/ESL)
We want to be accommodating and we can help if you inform of us of your needs. We understand that some individuals employ their own translation services in both ASL and or ESL. If we can support you, please inform us either by checking the “accommodations” box on the registration form or contact us at info@theocon.live.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
ΘeoCon is a family-friendly event. All ages are welcome. You will be given an event pass at check-in at the event. You are expected to wear your pass throughout the day, so that you will be identified as an event attendee.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is free parking available at the event location, but it is limited. We invite guests to carpool or use public transportation, which is easy, and will drop you off right at the event venue.
What can I bring into the event?
Bring a great attitude and open mind. We invite you to travel light as there is not a jacket/coat check available. Travel light and or bring what you think you can carry, because there are no storage areas available at this time.
Some will bring/wear their cosplay/costumes to the event. Lunch buffet provided at refectory for $13-$15 per person, and sometimes there are vending trucks, so you will not have to worry about bringing food into the venue.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
info@theocon.live
What's the refund policy?
No Refunds.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, you may bring your ticket to help assure an expedient process. Otherwise, it will take some time to access your name in our registration database.
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
We prefer if each person registers individually. Individual registration helps with many things; such as personalizing your experience, assuring a smooth check in process, helps us to know who is present at the event, etc. This helps for your personal experience and safety. Thanks for assisting in this!
