Intermediate Italian Language Class (Tuesdays, Winter 2019, Metairie), Italian American Bocce Club of Greater New Orleans, Tuesday, 08. January 2019

Did you Gras has its roots in Italy’s Carnevale? The celebration was first celebrated in Venice in 1094. Carnevale then spread from medieval Italy to the French Bourbon kings and eventually to France’s colonies, including Louisiana. In 1718, Governor Bienville established Mardi Gras in New Orleans!
