We believe in making learning and development accessible so that the learning is not only informed by practice it also gets embedded into practice.
As such we use case studies to bring the learning alive for practitioners, so that it makes sense in the context of their roles.
By the end of the session participants will have had the opportunity to consider:
v What constitutes abuse and neglect and who the ***** safeguarding duties apply to.
v The legal framework that underpins Safeguarding work
v Consent, information sharing, data protection legislation and acting safely to share information.
v Support of adults at risk who do not feel able to participate in managing the risk around Safeguarding issues
v Person-centred practice in line with the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP).
v Balancing the individual’s right to autonomy with the identified risks.
v Signs of self-neglect and actions that could be taken.
v Acting on safeguarding concerns when this is against the expressed wishes of the person.
v When and how to make a safeguarding referral, in line with CIOS policy and procedure.
v How personal beliefs attitudes and values can impact on practice and ensure behaviour reflects recognised health and social care values.
This course meets the knowledge element of ***** Safeguarding competencies, as identified in the National ***** Safeguarding Framework, Bournemouth University.
Audience: Suitable for all paid and voluntary staff working in a health, social care and partnership settings and have direct contact with people who may have health and social care needs.
Cancelation policy: whilst the cancelation policy states 30 days this is due to the configuartion of Eventbrite, we will actually refund any cancelation 15 days or more prior to the event minus any booking fee taking by eventbrite.
Any cancelation ( including a request to change dates) 14 days or less before the course will not receive a refund unless it is the organiser who need to cancel. Please note that these courses need to have a minimum of 10 people to be viable to proceed. If numbers are less than this, 15 days prior to the course date the course will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued .
