Together Digital Cincy | October OPEN Meetup: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Union Hall, Wednesday, 23. October 2019

Together Digital Cincy October OPEN Meetup: Diversity & Inclusion
Ensuring that all women of all races, sexual orientations, ages, stages, and backgrounds are empowered and have a seat at the table is crucial. Let’s be honest - we’ve come a long way, but there is still a lot of work to do. Let’s talk about the current state of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, and identify the most important ways we can motivate change for the future.
Agenda
7:30am - 8:00am: Check-in. Mix + Mingle. Enjoy coffee or a mimosa, with a light breakfast
8:00am - 8:10am: News + Updates from City Champion, Lucrecer Braxton and Board
8:10-8:40: Diversity & Inclusion Q&A with Myra LalDin, Moderator Fernanda Horner
8:40-9:00: Ask & Give Exchange. Members trade their power by asking for and giving support, advice, and favors. After asks + gives, open networking continues.
Speaker
Myra LalDin, CEO, VECTRE, Inc.

Myra believes in the power of stories to create empathy, shape values, and share experiences. Working at the intersection of culture, inclusion, and technology, Myra applies her background in organizational behavior and cognitive science to build immersive experiences in virtual reality (VR) for the enterprise that allow users to see the world from a different perspective.
Myra grew up in multiple countries and across various cultural contexts in international boarding schools. This collection of experiences catalyzed her passion to understand the science behind human behaviors across cultures and differences. She studied cross-cultural business management, and later, cognitive science and behavioral theory at Harvard.
After grad school, she began consulting in organizational behavior with a global competency & inclusion lens. The DEI space gave her the opportunity to support organizations in creating an environment where differences can be celebrated and embraced instead of feared and attacked.
Driven by her desire to help people recognize environments and everyday bias to which they may have become accustomed, Myra co-founded VECTRE, a virtual reality development company for enterprise training solutions in inclusion, allowing people to experience how bias impacts decisions and how trained cultural and emotional intelligence can lead to positive behavioral and organizational change.

At the Cincinnati Chamber, Fernanda works to grow the vibrancy and economic prosperity of our region and supports several of the Chamber's strategic initiatives, including leading in diversity and inclusion practices and expanding our area's talent base.
